Ngakuru School was established in 1933. The school holds a rich heritage
of history from the pioneering days. The Ngakuru area is a progressive
farming area, predominantly dairying but a number of sheep, beef, deer,
goat and ostrich farms are springing up. There are also an increasing
number of lifestyle block owners who commute to employment in Rotorua or
Tokoroa.
