‘Mahia nga mahi kei tamariki ma’ – ‘Make the most of your time while you are young’.

We warmly welcome you to Ngakuru School.

We are a unique school providing quality education for the children of our Ngakuru community.

General History

Ngakuru School was established in 1933. The school holds a rich heritage of history from the pioneering days. The Ngakuru area is a progressive farming area, predominantly dairying but a number of sheep, beef, deer, goat and ostrich farms are springing up. There are also an increasing number of lifestyle block owners who commute to employment in Rotorua or Tokoroa.

We have a great community spirit which is reflected in our school – a keen governing Board of Trustees, a vibrant, hard working P.T.A. and a supportive parent body (coaching sport, involvement in all occasions, encouraging our students.)

Ngakuru School caters for children from New Entrants to Year 8 (Form 2) in three classrooms.

We believe in providing a safe, caring, values driven environment for our students and their education. Our school is lead by a professional team of staff who put our students foremost in everything that is done.

We work together to provide quality education at Ngakuru School.

Our School vision and motto:

As we work together – students, staff and the community – our children will have the opportunity to succeed in their learning.

Our School Rules

Easy to understand and apply, we value, and require, the support of staff, students, home and the community for these to be effective.

Respect – Yourself, others and all property.

Manners – Use good manners at all times.

Right Time – Being in the right place at the right time.

Think – Before you act

Play Safely – Stay within the boundaries set.
